The committee consists of representatives from SOPA, RTA, Ministry of Transport and Auburn Council. Representing SOPBA are President David Humphreys, Board member, James Osbourne,Commonwealth Bank and CEO Karen Grega.
Following on from the 5 July Breakfast Forum with a traffic, transport and parking theme, this committee picked up some of the outstanding issues to include on its agenda such as the opening up of the Holker Street busway, the Australia Avenue roundabout and the heavy traffic on Bennelong Road.
Updates on these will be provided on the SOPBA website shortly. This consultative committee will meet quarterly and members should advise SOPBA CEO Karen Grega of any matters that they would like to see tabled either at the next meeting or earlier.
Green Star Business PartnershipSydney Olympic Park Authority has joined nine other Australian organisations to form the 'Green Star Business Partnership' under the guidance of the Green Building Council Australia.
As a signatory to the business partnership 'Accord', The Authority is committed to a vision for a sustainable built environment that meets the needs of people - individuals, communities and future generations.
As part of this commitment, The Authority will support sustainability of the built environment by:-
i. Ensuring all newly constructed buildings within the Authority's portfolio achieve a Green Star rating performance for building design, as-built and interiors.
ii. Raising the environmental performance of existing established buildings in our portfolio.
iii. Transparently reporting the performance of our office property portfolio.
The Authority is further committed to observe the following key principles of sustainability:
-Working with their staff, suppliers and customers to foster innovation and so improve environmental performance in our building portfolio.
-Investing in staff development and awareness of sustainable business and household practices through appropriate training.
-Promoting health, productivity, safety and amenity of customers, staff and the community through the design and maintenance of the built environment.
Whilst the Green Star Business Partnership relates to the management of each of the ten partner-organisations' property portfolios, Sydney OLympic Park Authority is equally committed to establishing, in conjunction with Sydney Olympic Park Business Association (SOPBA), an environmental business partnership (the 'Green Business Alliance') across all businesses within Sydney Olympic Park to reduce the carbon footprint of our business community's activities.
If successful, Sydney Olympic Park would become the first precinct in
Australia to implement such a holistic approach by business to improving its environmental performance and reporting standards.
Energy infrastructure giant relocates to Sydney Olympic ParkAustralia's leading provider of energy infrastructure solutions, Alinta, will consolidate five of its metropolitan offices to Sydney Olympic Park later this year.
Sydney Olympic Park was selected as Alinta's new Sydney headquarters for its central location, its wide range of facilities and activities, and the many public transport options available to staff.
The consolidation to one central Sydney location facilitates the streamlining of resources following last year's integration of the former Agility and Alinta's infrastructure service provider, Alinta Asset Management. It will also allow for current and future works' alignment, supply chain efficiencies and through downsizing from five office sites to one - will result in a reduced environmental footprint.
Work is currently underway to redevelop the 100 Bennelong Road site to house over 300 office and field staff from the existing French's Forest, Alexandria, Wetherill Park, North Parramatta and Gladesville offices.
